Terms of use
These terms govern the use of Questrove by organisers and by the players they invite. Plain language throughout. If something here is unclear, that is our problem and not yours.
What the service does
Questrove lets an organiser build a treasure hunt, generate printable codes for real objects, invite teams, and run the game live. The game engine, the scoring and the countdowns run on our servers; the phone only displays them.
Accounts
Only organisers have an account. You are responsible for your password and for what happens under your account. Players never create one: they join through a link or a party code, and their identity lasts only as long as the hunt.
What the organiser is responsible for
You choose where to hide objects and who plays. That makes you responsible for having the right to place objects where you place them, for the safety of the route you send people along, and for supervising minors taking part. We have no way of knowing that a hiding place is on private land or at the top of a wall. You do.
Your content stays yours
The riddles, names, images and layouts you create belong to you. We store and display them in order to run the service, and nothing more. Export is available on every plan, including the free one, and it is not a courtesy: content you cannot take away is content you do not own.
What is not allowed
No illegal content, no harassment, no hunt built to send people somewhere dangerous or forbidden, and no attempt to reach another organisation’s data. An account used for any of these can be suspended.
Plans and payment
The free plan is free, with no card required. Paid plans are on sale: a plan applies to a single hunt and is bought from inside that hunt, by card, through our payment provider Stripe. We never see or store your card details. A purchased hunt stays available for one year. Business Pro is quoted to the project, billed yearly, and may be invoiced outside the app. Prices are shown in euros on the pricing page; the tax treatment that applies to them is stated in the publisher’s details.
The 14-day withdrawal right, and how you waive it
As a consumer in the European Union you normally have fourteen days to change your mind about an online purchase. A plan is activated the moment the payment goes through, so the law asks you to waive that right expressly and knowingly before we run the service. That is what the box at checkout is for: it is never ticked for you, the payment button stays disabled until you tick it, and the moment you do is recorded with your purchase. Once activated, the plan is therefore not refundable on the basis of the withdrawal right. That changes nothing about our own failures: a hunt cut short by us is handled under Availability, below.
Availability
This is a young service and we do not promise uninterrupted availability. What we do commit to is that a hunt cut short by our own failure does not consume your monthly launch. The grace rule exists for exactly that, and the server applies it without anyone having to ask.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from the organiser workspace. Deletion removes your hunts, your players and their data. It is immediate and it is not reversible, which is why it asks for your password even when you are already signed in.
